Dairy ProP169® Direct Fed Microbial
Dairy ProP169® Direct Fed Microbial is a new technology for improving energy balance and milk production in cows. Dairy ProP169® contains 60 billion Colony Forming Units of Propionibacterium freudenreichii strain P169 per 2 gram feeding.
Based on the results of research trials conducted on feeding strain P169 to dairy cows, economic benefits can be documented from three sources:
- Increased milk production
- Increased milk components
- Improved feed efficiency
In controlled feeding trials, cows fed strain P169 showed improvements in milk production ranging from 4 to 12 percent. Milk components were positively affected in these trials, such that production of total milk fat, total milk protein and milk lactose all increased.
